Apple testifies before U.S. Senate


Apple executives appeared before a Senate panel to protect the tax practices of their company. Apple chief executive Tim Cook has testified before the Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations. The panel said that Apple, the most valuable company in the world, uses legjislasionin gaps in U.S. taxes, to avoid payment. The panel said that Apple avoids taxes by shifting profits to a "complex web pages" of foreign affiliates. But he stressed that there is no sign that the company is acting illegally. Cook told the panel that Apple is the largest corporate taxpayers in the U.S. and that does not "trick".
